Welcome to

Nicola Hambley Counselling Services

Talking Therapy for adult individuals and couples

Life's struggles can often catch up with us, leaving us with uncomfortable feelings such as low moods, depression, anxiety, relationship struggles or being overwhelmed.

You have already taken the first step by being here, for that I commend you and welcome you warmly.

How can counselling help?

Speak in Confidence

I believe that experiences past and present can impact on your well-being. My aim is to provide a confidential, empathetic, warm, respectful and non-judgmental space in which we can build a therapeutic relationship of trust, respect and equality to explore these experiences and how they have impacted on you.

A problem shared...

Your experiences are unique to you, so it is important that you are listened to, that you feel valued and secure so you are able explore your thoughts and feelings. This can help to make sense of your life experiences or patterns of behavior without fear of criticism or judgement. My aim is to support you in these explorations and discoveries. you in these discoveries.

What to expect in your first session

Your first session will be a face-to-face consultation where we can meet and discuss what you are hoping to gain from your counselling sessions. I will also gather some basic information about you and give you basic information about me and how I work.

This meeting will give us the opportunity to decide whether we would like to continue with further sessions and if this is the case, we will decide a mutually agreeable time and day to meet each week.

I insist on a 3-stage assessment process for couples. The first session will be all three of us, the second and third will be an individual session with each party in turn. Then we can come together in the fourth session to discuss how we will move forward..
